篇一:《Smog in China》

Smog in China

In the Industrial Revolution age, the word “smog” came into view. Smog is common in large urban areas, especially during hot, sunny weather, where it appears as a brownish haze.

So what is the cause of smog? The air pollutants that make up smog mainly come from burning fossil fuels, natural gas and coal in our cars, truck, home furnaces, industries and power plants , we are sending pollutants into air. Ozone, the main ingredient in smog, is formed when two pollutants combine in the presence of sun light.

Chinese media say that although some of the smog can be attributed to wintry weather condition, the human contribution is one of the biggest factors. The China Daily said there are also not enough green areas in the city to help sock up the fumes discharged by vehicles industries. It has also been rapid industrialization in China and a heavy reliance on coal power, which have both contributed to the problem.

Smog is very dangerous, which can worsen heart problems, asthma, bronchitis and other lung problems. Smog reduces lung function in healthy people. It also irritates eyes, nose and throat. Other effects on agriculture, economy, traffic and so on. Smog affects everyone, especially children. Other groups including people with lung diseases and heart conditions, people who work , play sports or exercises outdoor, pregnant women, seniors and smokers may also experience harmful health effects{how, smog, effect, people, life,in,china}.

at lower levels of air pollution.

It is necessary to let people be clear about the harm smog does to us and the consequences of environmental deterioration. Only people have had the environmental awareness, can some measures of protecting environment be carried effectively. It required determined government policy with public support.

Transfer focus from coal, oil to other energy. First, the government should try to research and develop new energy resources to replace coal such as wind energy under the circumstances of Chinas use of coal continuing to rise. Second, government should ride electric cars instead of cars, motorcycle and buses. Thirdly they also should use electric heating to replace coal-fired heating.

In a word, a good government comes from good protection, not strict monitoring. If you dont like smog, what you should do is not release your anger online. From now on, please stop overusing your car and walk on your feet if the destination is not far.

篇二:《smog in China》

Smog in China

Hello, everyone, today I am going to talk something about the smog and haze in China. Recently,Smog has been a hot topic at the two

sessions in the Premier Li Keqiang’s Government Work Report. And in general,I’d like to organize my speech from 2 aspects.First, about the current situation of the smog and haze in our country.According to the China Daily’s newspaper on March 13 this year, all 74 major Chinese cities’ air quality have met the national standards for clear air on 241 days on average last year. However, smog is still a serious problem in our society. Based on the The famous former CCTV host Chai jing ‘s anti-pollution documentary ‘under the Dome’. It’s really a pity that the condition comes so serious as reported..Then it comes to the question ‘ what actually cause this tragedy?’This is the second aspect I want to talk about .As far as I am concerned, the situation of the smog and haze is caused by more than one factors. For example, most air pollution come from burning fossil fuels ,which provide the materials for combining the smog and haze.Besides, although people’s awareness of protecting the environment has been arose, there are still some people who ignore the laws and keep releasing the harmful gases into the air. All in all, from the current situation and the causes of the smog and haze,it’s high time that everyone should take his or her own

responsibility ,just don't, don't let the smog darken our way to success, just don't let the heavy smog mist our way home.

Thanks to the strong wind these days, blue and clear sky reappear in most part of China. But after all,we can’t rely solely on the wind or natural self-cleaning ability to defend against the heavy smog in China.{how,smog,effect,people,life,in,china}.

In china, the smog,or the air pollution problem has became a hot topic because according to the environmental monitoring ['mntr] data, air quality in 80% of first tier [t] city failed to meet the required standard last year. It’s a problem touches to everyone’s health and life quality.Chinese journalist Chai Jing filming a documentary called ‘under the dome’ about the problem of Chinese smog, which caused a big stir

[st] in public.More than one proposal has been submitted to the National People's Congress about air pollution. It will be a topic for discussion at all the annual sessions until the air quality substantially changes for the better.

In fact, the government has made greater efforts to curb [kb] air pollution. Cutting coal burning, limiting the growing number of cars, curbing environmental pollution and reducing dust emission will continue to be the four major measures to control air pollution in China. Some policies have been introduced to fight air pollution.A great number of badly polluting industries have been shut down. Also, new energy such as wind energy are developed to replace the coal [kl] and oil.More importantly, government pledge to report the monitoring data of air

pollution everyday and let every citizens know the progress of environmental management because citizens have right to know and to supervise the government.

Yet, the pollution is too serious for these efforts to produce an evident effect in such a short period of time. Keeping the sky blue will be a long-term task that requires both strict law enforcement and constant efforts.

篇四:《Smog situation in China has positive》

Smog situation in China has positive

“unforeseen rewards”

Since March in 2013, many regions in China have appeared the smog over the sky. In the winter of 2013, the PM2.5’s rising parameter suggests the situation is deteriorating. As the arch-criminal of environmental deterioration, “smog” a hot hit because it is a real reflection of China’s citizens’ life. The following passage is mainly about the damages for Chinese health and transportation efficiency brought by China’s smog situation .69

Smog situation does great harm to the Chinese physical health. According to the survey result from the People’s Hospital in Beijing, there are more than 20,000 people catch the illness in breathing and cardiac in November. Specialists put forward the list about the related illness which is blamed to the smog such as cardiac arrest, deterioration of reproductive ability. Except these physical matters mentioned above, people may be partly influenced by the smog situation including being inactive, unfocused and even temper-uncontrolled. 81

Smog situation also results in more transportation issues. Smog makes it so difficult for drivers and passers-by to identify the direction that causes more traffic accidents. China Highway net reports the number of the accidents happened on the Beijing-Zhuhai highway from 7:00a.m. to 8:30a.m. on 10th, October is over 40. Besides, it has an evitable effect on{how, smog, effect, people, life,in,china}.

airlines’ taking off and landing. Liu Yunsheng, the experienced pilot in South Airline Corporation put that he had changed the routine three times in the passing month. It’s obvious that smog impacts on China’s transportation efficiency.94

While according to a report from CCTV net, smog makes China more equal. That’s an unreasonable view .Because even though smog situation is increasingly severe; equality is still far away from Chinese. The rich have enough worth and privilege to avoid smog’s damages as soon as possible. The Office of Travel and Tourism Industries in U.S. Department to Commerce declared a report of Chinese traveling to America data for August in 2013 which demonstrates the year- on-year rises of 36.5 per cent compared to last August period. 87

Smog brings China so many visible damages and warnings of dim need to Chinese to rebuild environmental protection system which gives superiority to PM2.5 standard’s controlling. Otherwise, severer and severer smog situation will gradually threaten more Chinese health and transportation situation. To return Chinese people a bright future, China has no choice but to take steps without any hesitation to change the smog situation. Do change.

How to Cope with Smog

Facial masks we wear have to be upgraded from common ones to PM2.5 proof ones as choking smog has blanketed Beijing and is threatening other cities in north China . The smog affecting China has aroused a wide concern from the society. Until then did people begin to wonder what smog is and what caused the bad air condition in China.

Smog can be defined as fog that has become polluted with smoke and particulates, especially from burning coal. It, to some degree, explains the cause of smog. The burning of fossil fuels contributes to the hostile smog, indisputably. Coke burns with oxygen to give carbon dioxide that accelerates the globe warming. But I believe that the weakness of people ‘s concern for the environment matters too .Had we foreseen what happened today , people in charge would have taken more measures to protect our irreparable homeland .

Companies always give priority to their own interests and release poisonous gases into the air. Individuals light

fireworks as much as they like in Spring Festival and drive to almost anywhere. No one seemed to have anticipated the smog he/she is suffering from today.

{how,smog,effect,people,life,in,china}. {how,smog,effect,people,life,in,china}.

Speaking of the harm of smog, people involuntarily come up with health problem. The particulates breathed in by human body will damage the lung and increase the chance of getting lung cancer .Not only does “the Grey Ghost” do harm to human body, it also makes the city invisible and block the drivers’ eyes .Actually smog not just affects every part of the city. It is ruining a city in economic 、environment 、transportation and etc .

{how,smog,effect,people,life,in,china}.

The situation is serious now and it is high time that people should take measures .Companies are sure to blame .It is a company’s social responsibility to adopt a clean production. And Chinese industry relies too much on clue{how, smog, effect, people, life,in,china}.

burning .Government should participate in building new

sources of power system like solar energy and nuclear power. Easier access to improve the air condition for individuals is to adopt a green lifestyle. The future may be grim ,but we’re taking actions .

篇六:《smog 雾霾》

Most recently, smog and PM2.5 (ambient air quality) has become

buzzwords of the Chinese public opinion, have aroused extensive attention from all walks of life, especially after a record provided by Chai Jing, a medium professional. In a long term, more and more people are concerned about air pollution.

Nowadays, people in China become worried and feared when talking about smog. And as we all know, smog is a type of air pollution, it's caused by a large number of coal combustion within a city, also it contains soot particulates from smoke, sulfur dioxide and other components. But with the development of economy, smog is a serious problem in China, it effects everyone's daily life and continues to harm human health. In China, a number of people would not go out without an anti-dust mask. And many studies show that smog is especially harmful to senior citizens, children and people with heart and lung conditions such as emphysema, bronchitis, and asthma, and many premature deaths are due to cancer and respiratory disease.

So it's high time to protect the environment. As a person who is living in such a poor environment, we should appeal to each other to fight against air pollution, particularly the smog. First, for the government, they have obligations to make measures to fend off smog, for example, Beijing closed a large coal-fired power plant in its downtown area, replacing it with a gas-fired plant to cut pollution. Second, for the general public, we ought to live environment-friendly, we can go out by bus or walking, for only in this way, air quality can be improved, and we will live better and healthier.
