At Spring Festival, we have a big family dinner. We can eat delicious food. And I can wear my beautiful clothes and my new shoes. I can make dumplings with my mother. I can help my father clean my house. I will visit my grandparents. And I will play with my good friends. We can make a snowman together. We will be very happy.

My favorite festival is the Spring Festival. Chinese Spring Festival is the end of winter and the beginning of spring. It begins on the last day of the lunar year and ends on the 15th day of lunar New Year. I always enjoy myself during this traditional festival.
Last Spring Festival, I went to my grandparents’home. I played with my cousin every day. We played a lot of games on the Eve of the Spring Festival. At night, we played fireworks to make ourselves happy. We were very tired because we went to bed after twelve o’ clock,but we were excited to stay up late!
The next morning, every child was looking forward to receiving red envelope money. My cousin and I were so eager that we got up very early and then began to say “Wish you a fortune！Give me a red envelope!”to every elder relative, and then we would receive red envelopes with money it them. At last we got many red envelopes, how happy we were! That’s why the Spring Festival is my favorite festival.

[1]The Lantern Festival：On the fifteenth day of the New Year，a spectacular three-day festival of lanterns begins.Lanterns bearing the symbols of good fortune，happiness and health are purchased and hung in homes.At the end of the lantern festival，the New Year festivities are over and life returns to its normal pace.People come to feast their eyes on the “lion”and “dragon”dances throughout the New Year.It takes years of practice to become a professional lion dancer as it requires coordination and skill to “dance the lion”.
[2]The Dragon Boat Festival：The Dragon Boat Festival is an exciting event in China.It`s held on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month，usually in June.The day is set aside to honor the death of Qu Yuan，the famous Chinese poet and patriot.
Qu Yuan wrote beautiful and passionate poems for his country against the evil of officials.Eventually，he became disillusioned and he took his own life by drowning himself in the Milo River.People were so upset by the loss of Qu Yuan that they took to boats and beat the water with paddles to stop the fish from eating his body.They also threw rice dumplings into the water to tempt the fish away from their hero.{my,favourite,festival}.
Today，the Dragon Boat races commemorate Qu Yuan`s death.The dragons are searching the water for Qu Yuan`s body，symbolically.
[3]The Mid-autumn Festival：this festival is held on the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month and its popularity and participation for the young is second only to the Spring Festival. During the Tang Dynasty（618-907），Chinese leaders took up the practice of watching the moon.This day is set aside just for this purpose.People travelled to high place to make sure they had a good view of the moon.Traditionally，children carried lanterns of animal shapes lit by candles.
As darkness approaches，the country is shimmering with the glow of lantern lights.This night is an event no one should miss.It`s an evening especially for children of all ages.
Moon cakes are also an important part of the Festival.Now，the mooncakes are given to friends and relatives during the festival.These pastries are a mixture of ground lotus，mashed beans，sesame seeds and dates.

The Spring Festival， Chinese New Year，is the most important festival for all of us. All family members get together on New Year'Eve to have a big meal.At the same time，everyone celebrates to each other.At about 12 o'clock，some parents and children light crackers.The whole sky is lighted brightly. We may watch the fireworks excitedly.How busy it is！{my,favourite,festival}.
On the first early moring of one year， many senior citizen get up early and they stick the reversed Fu or hang some couplets on the front door. Some house's windows are sticked on red paper cutlings.
The Chinese New Year lasts fifteen days. So during the fifteen days， we always visit our relatives from door to door. At that time， children are the happiest because they can get many red packets form their parents，grandparents， uncles， aunts and so on. The last day of the Chinese New Year is another festival. It names the Lantern Festival.So the Chinese New Year comes to the end.
However now Christmas arouses increasing attention year by year in China. Christmas cards become popular with students. People hold Christmas parties and exchange Christmas girts. A lot or TV and radio programs about Christmas are on. Meanwhile the Spring Festival is less appealing to youngsters. Thus some people wonder whether Christmas will replace the Spring Festival.
