篇四:《Children's Day》
Children’s Day
Good afternoon, everyone. Today, I’ll introduce a festival that has passed several days ago. The Children’s Day.
First of all, I would like to talk about its origin. It was during the Second World War in June, 1942, the German Fascist shot for the Czech village of Lidice men over the age of 16 more than 140 citizens and all babies, and women and 90 children taken to concentration camps. The village houses, buildings were burned and good carry of the village was destroyed by the Nazis. In order to mourn for the village and the dead children in the war of fascist aggression and to ensure their inalienable rights of life, education and improve their lives. In November 1949, the international democratic women’s federation directors held a meeting in Moscow and decided the first day of June as the International Children’s Day.
Then, I’ll introduce some customs of Children’s Day in different countries. Firstly, Japan. Japan is a country that celebrate Children’s Day for three times each year, more than any other countries. The method of celebrating is interesting and full of Japanese folk custom. The March 3rd is girls’ day. Every year on this day, parents will set up a display stand on which put many pretty dolls with kimono. The May 5th is boys’ day. For blessing every boy grow up healthy and happy, every family use paper or cloth to make colored ribbons that are shaped like carp, then tying ribbons with pinwheel together and hanging them on roof. The reason to do so because most Japanese believe that carp is full of spirit and vitality and hope the boys will grow to be strong and brave like the carp. The November 15th is “seven-five-three” day. In Japanese custom, the three, five, seven ages are especial and lucky ages for children. So on this day, after putting on traditional kimono and filling small bags with candies and toys, the three ages children will go to shrine with their parents to pray for health and happiness.
The second country is Brazil. The Children’s Day is also the country’s Epidemic Prevention Day. Doctors from the whole country will examine children’s bodies and vaccinate for children under 5 years old.
Thirdly, Russia. they celebrate as same as our China. School holds some activities on that day. Children dress beautiful clothes and give a performance. And parents will take children eat some delicious food or buy some new toys.
Compared with the mentioned countries, the children in Iraq are much more pitiful, they simply don’t know there is a festival that belongs to them. As always, they have classes, work in factories or beg in the streets. All children never had the Children’s Day.
Children are the flowers of the country and the hope of the future. As a adult, giving children more love, patient and using the way that they can easily understand. Wish all children around the world healthy and happy and wish our adults own an innocence heart forever.
