2012年10月30日我们全家与何浩一家一起去了上海玩，虽然时间过去那么久了，但让我久久不能忘怀的是——上海东方明珠塔。
还记得那天，我们刚到了上海，就看见上海的高楼大厦数不胜数，它们就像一排排战士一样，保卫着上海，不让那些“侵略者”踏入。上海的马路纵横交错，路上人来人往、接踵摩肩、热闹非凡。我终于熬到夜晚，准备去参观东方明珠了。
我们花了10分钟就到了东方明珠。远看，它就像一位巨人似的，头顶着天，脚下踏着地。东方明珠塔的前面是黄浦江，江中一条条小船在游动着。东方明珠塔是中国最高的电视塔，我怀着崇拜之情仰望着这位“君子”。在那里，我拍了好几张照片，准备带回家传到网上去。
我们在那里坐了一会儿，准备进去，观看东方明珠塔，可爸爸却说：“夜晚东方明珠塔中的电梯已经关闭了。”我只能说遗憾了。我高兴心情一下子就坠到无底深渊。
通过这次游玩，我知道东方明珠塔总高度为468米，是世界第四高塔，从底层电梯大厅到直径为45米的中球，离地面263米，上去只需要40秒钟。就要走了，我恋恋不舍地望着东方明珠塔，心想有朝一日，定可再见到它。
通过那次参观东方明珠塔，我想以后应该多出来走动，增长知识，开阔视野！

Good morning everyone, welcome to our one-day trip in Shanghai. Our first sight spot is the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. As you can see, it locates at the tip of Lujiazui in the Pudong district by the side of Huangpu River, opposite The Bund, makes it a distinct landmark in the area. Its construction began in 1991, and the tower was completed in 1994. At 468 m (1,535 feet) high, it was the tallest structure in China from 1994–2007, when it was surpassed by the Shanghai World Financial Center. The Oriental Pearl TV Tower belongs to the World Federation of Great Towers. On 7 July 2007, Oriental Pearl TV Tower was host to the Chinese Live Earth concert.
Let me introduce the famous tower briefly. The tower features 11 spheres, big and small. The two largest spheres, along the length of the tower, have diameters of 50 m (164 ft) for the lower and 45 m (148 ft) for the upper. They are linked by three columns, each 9 m (30 ft) in diameter. The highest sphere is 14 m (46 ft) in diameter.
The entire tower is supported by three enormous columns that start underground.
The unique construction contains Chinese symbolism in the design.It is said to be based
the chief of the jury board who said it reminded him of that poem.
The tower has fifteen observatory levels. The highest (known as the Space Module) is at 350 m (1148 ft). The lower levels are at 263 m (863 ft) (Sightseeing Floor) and at 90 m (295 ft) (Space City). There is a revolving restaurant at the 267 m (876 ft) level. The project also contains exhibition facilities, restaurants and a shopping mall. There is also a 20-room hotel called the Space Hotel between the two large spheres. The upper observation platform has an outside area with a glass floor. If the weather is clear, you can overlook the modern city and beautiful environment, and you can even see the She Mountain and the Chongming Island faintly. It is really an interesting and unforgettable experience.

Shanghai Oriental Pearl TV Tower was completed on
Oct. 1, 1994. It is 468 m high, being the highest in Asia and
the third highest in the world, only next the TV towers in

to the bund on the west bank.. The architectural modeling of
the tower is unique, expressing the flavor of oriental culture.
The structure of the tower consists of 11 spheres, different in

It should be noted that the Oriental Pearl TV Tower ranks the tallest in Asia and the third tallest in the world, only second to Toronto CN Tower (553.3m) and Moscow Ostankino Tower (533.3m).
The location of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower is very ideally chosen. It is at the tip of Lujiazui by the side of Huahngpu River, just opposite the world famous Bund of Shanghai.
The design scheme of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower was selected from 12 outstanding design schemes by nationwide well-known experts and approved by the Shanghai Municipal Government. The architects, inspired by rich imagination, arranged 13 spheres together with some ground facilities in the order of their sizes high up in the blue sky down to a carpet of green lawn like a string of pearls, while two dazzling ruby-like colossal spheres are propped high up. The harmonious entity of the tower presents at night when lights are on a picture of pearls, big and small, falling into a jade plate (quoted from “The Sontg of Pipa Girl” by Bei Juyi, a great Chinese poet in the Tang Dynasty), a scene full of poetic and artistic conception. It is not only a great attraction to visitors but also an important symbol of Shanghai.
